USAMAGSIUM

COMPOSITION:

Each film-coated tablet contains:

Magnesium lactate dihydrate.....................470 mg

Vitamin B₆ (Pyridoxine Hydrochloride)........5 mg 

Excipients: Low-substituted hydroxypropyl cellulose, Microcrystalline cellulose, Alginic acid, Copovidone, Sodium starch glycolate, Colloidal anhydrous silica, Hydrogenated castor oil, Magnesium stearate, Opadry II white.

INDICATIONS:

• Treatment of magnesium deficiency (isolated or associated with other mineral deficiency) such as alcohol abuse, excessive or chronic vomiting and/or diarrhea, malnutrition, magnesium malabsorption; neuro-muscular hyperexcitability; asthenia.
• Treatment of functional signs of anxiety crisis with hyperventilation (spasmophilia).

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:

Adults and children > 12 years old:

• Severe magnesium deficiency: 2 tablets, three times a day.
• Spasmophilia: 1 - 2 tablets, three times a day.

Children <12 years old: 1 tablet, two or three times a day.

Note: When calcium deficiency is associated, it is recommended to supply magnesium before calcium.

CONTRAINDICATIONS:

• Hypersensitive to any of its ingredient(s).
• Severe renal insufficiency with creatinine clearance < 30ml/min.

WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS

Do not use with any other products containing magnesium or vitamin B₆.

When calcium deficiency is associated, it is recommended to supply magnesium before calcium.

Use with caution in patients with renal impairment, should consult a physician before use.

 Use in pregnancy

This drug should be used during pregnancy only if clearly needed. Magnesium and pyridoxal crosses the placenta. When used in pregnancy, fetal heart rate should be monitored and avoided for 2 hours before birth.

Use in lactation

As magnesium is excreted in breast human milk, this drug should not be given to nursing mothers.

PRESENTATION: Blister of 10 film-coated tablets; box of 3 blisters and box of 10 blisters.
